Your struggle is real. There is hope.
Every relationship goes through natural highs and lows, but most of us never learned the skills to stay connected when times get hard.
Struggling to be the couple you think you “should” be is frustrating and exhausting and couples therapy is often the last resort. I am here to help you identify where you are stuck, navigate the big feelings, and communicate more effectively to create a relationship that brings you joy.
I wholeheartedly believe in the power of relationships to transform us. I know the challenges and conflicts you are experiencing are painful. They are also an amazing opportunity for connection, learning, and growth. I don’t view myself as the expert who will assess the problem and fix it. What I offer is a compassionate, non-judgemental space for you and your partner to rediscover yourselves and each other.
My approach is experiential, appropriately challenging, and at times playful. I believe that in order to interrupt entrenched patterns of thinking and behaving, we must be willing to try something different. To that end, I will encourage practicing new strategies or tools in the session including movement, role-playing, mindfulness, visualizations, and other experiments. I also believe humor and laughter go a long way to ease our suffering and bring us back into connection with each other.
I welcome diversity in my practice and enjoy working with all kinds of relationships- queer, straight, monogamous, polyamorous, open, and anything in between.
